My Sister, My Friend, and My Hero.

One more year has passed on by,
Don't look back
Keep your head held high
For you're missing the most valuable moments,You see...
When you are looking down toward your feet.

Walk, if you run, you'll find yourself wondering
Why or When What never failed to smile down at you,
Somehow, forgot to grin.
We somehow took for granted then,
The special times we shared-Smiles, smells of home, were there
Whenever we got scared.

I ran to and from that place,
Yet, never saw that smile.
I look up now, no place to run,
And it's been here all the while.
I realize late, the things that time
Can't allow us to hold for long.

The youngest, the oldest, and all in between
Can't return, once time has gone-
Take time, hold the moments, in time they slip away,
Words one heart fought, with a smile to say.
This year will pass, as the years before,
Smile at the life, that you most adore.

When time comes and you "forget" to grin, too...
Those who remember your smile of love,
Will hold heads high, to smile right back at you..........

My Sweet Baby Sister

I remember her at the age of six
Her smile, her eyes, her sweetness
Would wash onto other except our brother

The news she was leaving me
Hit me like a cold glass of water
Down my back

Her days I wanted to fill with joy,
Happiness nothing more than surprises,
Big and small, that would bring happiness to her days.

At the age of seven
I saw the changes on her face show up,
Puffy pail, no light would shine again

She fought, cut through the enemy as long
As she could she held on to life, she had no success
Her strength slipped away, like sand through my fingers

Just two months before her eighth birthday
Lukemia clamed her
Like a thief in the night it took her away

Leaving me with a promise saying
“Up from above I will be
Your guardian angel for life”

SHE’S GONE. In the cold, alone I stand.
I don’t hate her for it
Because it wasn’t something we could stop.

I loved her very much
And if love could change the way
Things are she would still be alive.

She knew I was always next to her
I had her back
I always loved her and I always cared

Even though she’s not in sight
She’s still in my thoughts day and night,
Love is what keeps her there.
And makes me thankful for all we shared

In the past, present, future I will
Always remember her as my
SWEET BABY SISTER
